Today is an interesting day in that I scanned the showings at my local movie theater and would watch nearly every listing out. There are at least 5 movies I would pay to see. I can’t remember the last time that happened. Is it the summer blockbuster season that’s got me so giddy? 😎
Anywho, “Sorry to Bother You” is one film I keep hearing about and know nothing about. I read the synopsis, which wasn’t mind-blowing, but the trailer tells a better story.
I think I like the direction in which film is going, opening up to “weird, quirky” content. What do you think, would you watch this?
I kept hearing and seeing tweets about this film to the point of exhaustion so I finally watched the trailer. And yeah, I wanna see it now. Damn you, Jaoquin! (It looks really good).
“You’re a mean one, Mr. Grinch…!”
When I first heard Benadryl Cabbagepatch was playing the Grinch I got super excited for him to be in another hooman movie, painted green, perhaps in a green skin-suit. But animated is just as good. This trailer takes your Ordinary Grinch and makes him.. current, and fun! I love Bandicoot Cookiesnatch. 😝
The second released trailer and I’m still in love with this movie I haven’t seen. I’m not a mother, I’m not a nanny, but I am a human being that needs help from time to time. I want to see this in theatres but, ugh, not with a bunch of mothers and their offspring, lol.
Another comedy that’s trying way too hard to be cool…but I’ll probably watch it anyway to see where it lands, lol. (Hey, “Game Night” was a surprise hit!)
I’ve learned that people LOVE (obssess) over the Kennedys, lol. Here’s another film in a long line of them, this time about Ted Kennedy and the death of Mary Jo Kopechne in 1969. I don’t know this story so I’m gonna watch it. How about you?
I believe the most important goal for social commentary films based on historical events is to make a meaningful and sensible call to action, NOT to take advantage of sensitive times and incite fear and anger within communities. What side will this film fall on?
